Originally from Invercargill, Sheryl is a self-taught professional artist and graphic designer. Moving to Dunedin in 1996, she works from her home studio in Anderson’s Bay, dividing her time between painting and graphic design.
Describing her art work as ‘contemporary realism’ her subject matter features still life, character buildings, boats and water reflections ~ all with attention to detail. Sheryl uses acrylic as her medium and enjoys portraying natural light mixed with shadows and reflections to capture a mood or a moment in time. Her paintings are in demand locally and are often commission based.
Sheryl’s graphic design work is varied and extensive, ranging from contract work to designing stamps, book illustrating and designing characters for children’s magazines.
